ಕಳಬೇಡ, ಕೊಲಬೇಡ, ಹುಸಿಯ ನುಡಿಯಲು ಬೇಡ, ಮುನಿಯ ಬೇಡ, ಅನ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಅಸಹ್ಯಪಡಬೇಡ.
ತನ್ನ ಬಣ್ಣಿಸಬೇಡ, ಇದಿರ ಹಳಿಯಲು ಬೇಡ.

Kala beda, kola beda, husiya nudiyalu beda, muniya beda, annyarige asaya padabeda.

Thanna banisabeda, idira haliyalu beda.

Idhe antharanga shuddhi! idhe bahiranga shuddhi!
Idhe namma koodala sangamanolisuva pari.



meaning:

Don't steal, don't kill, don't speak a Lie, don't be angry with anyone, don't feel Disgust for others.

ಮನದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ನೆನಹು ತುಮ್ಬಿ, ಕಿವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕೀರುತಿ ತುಮ್ಬಿ
ಕೂಡಲ ಸಂಗಮ ದೆವಾ,
ನಿಮ್ಮ ಚರಣಕಮಲದೊಳಗಾನು ತುಮ್ಬಿ,

 

Vachanadalli namamritha thumbi, nayanadalli nimma muruthi thumbi,
manadalli nimma nenahu tumbi, kiviyalli nimma kiruthi thumbi,
kudala sangama deva,
nimma charanakamaladoLaganu thumbi.

The words spoken (by me) are full of ambrosia of (Your Holy) Name,
The eyes are enriched with the vision of Your Form,
The mind is full of Your thoughts,
The ears are filled with Your Glory,
Oh Lord of kudala sangama,

ನಾರಿಗೆ ಗುಣವೆ ಶೃಂಗಾರ, ಗಗನಕೆ ಚಂದ್ರಮ ಶೃಂಗಾರ
ನಮ್ಮ ಕೂಡಲ ಸಂಗನ ಶರಣರ ನೊಸಲಿಗೆ ವಿಭೂತಿಯೆ ಶೃಂಗಾರ.

 

nirige naidile shringara, samudrake tereye shringara,
naarige gunave shringara, gaganake chandrama shringara,
namma kudala sangana sharanara nosalige vibhutiye shringara.

For the ocean tides are the charm;
For the woman character is the charm;
For the sky moon is the charm;
For foreheads of the refugees (devotees) of the Lord of kudala sangama, the holy ash is the charm.
